Changes to Authentication Methods

Access via your university network without a user account is a legacy access method retained to enable transition from the previous service. This access method, which relies on IP address authentication, allowed access from any university network without further verification. However, this access method has now been withdrawn to increase our security measures.

Eligibility to access PSDS resources has not changed, however, users need to authenticate themselves through a user account before accessing the resources. This is the same mechanism used to access PSDS resources from a non-university network (e.g. from your home).

If you already have a PSDS account (username / password or institutional login via shibboleth) you just need to make sure you are logged in to your account. If you do not have a PSDS account you will need register for an account. The easiest way to do this is through Institutional Login which utilises the single-sign on through your university. If you cannot login this way you can apply for a username / password account
